The Pink Carpet of Fuji Shibazakura

Another Golden Week ahead and every one is excited! My family together with my in-laws and cousins went to see the Fuji Shibazakura Festival. Though, it is almost 4 hours of travel from our small city, we decided to go through to have this one of a kind experience to see the carpet of pink moss with the breathtaking background of Mt. Fuji.

During mid-April through first week of May, shibazakura (pink moss) come into bloom. Since, Golden week is the longest holiday in Japan, and also the busiest, I recommend that it is best to see this vivid hue of colors during weekdays to avoid the crowd. The entrance fee is 600 yen.

From the parking area, we can already see Mt. Fuji. Thank God for the good weather! Just look at that impeccable view!

Lovely poppies with food stalls at the background offering delicious food from steak to hamburgers.
