The Golden Week at the Golden Pavilion
Golden Week is the longest vacation here in Japan. It starts on the last week of April and ends May 5th. During this time of the year, locals are mostly out of town, an opportunity of fun and relaxation from any stress-related environment. The Golden Pavilion, which is also known as Kinkaku-ji, is one of the most sought after destinations, both of Gaikokujins and Nihonjins.

Outside Kyoto Station
From here, there's a bus station in front. Each bus has designated stops, including the Kinkakuji. Just before you ride the bus, make sure you have a change of 100s and 10s to lessen the hassle because you'll be paying 130 yen for the fare (I'm not sure if I remember the amount correctly).
